The best chimney sweep software in 2026

The short version

Best overall for a chimney business
Jobber — Annual recurring jobs plus bulk scheduling is exactly the shape of an autumn-heavy year.
Best cheap option
QuoteIQ — $29.99/mo for a single van doing sweeps and repairs.
Best for inspection evidence
Housecall Pro — Structured photo reports, which matter when you are documenting a safety issue.

Who this is for

One to four sweeps. Annual cleans, camera inspections, cap and liner work, and the occasional repair that pays for a week. Your year is a mountain from September to December and a plateau either side.

Chimney sweeping has the highest natural repeat rate and one of the worst capture rates of any trade here. Every customer should come back every year. Most do not, because nobody reminded them. That single fact should drive your software choice.

Jobber — best for a chimney business

$49/mo · One to four sweeps

The default field service platform for small home service businesses, and the one most operators compare everything else against.

An annually repeating job plus an automated reminder is, for this trade, close to free money. Set every customer to return next autumn and the diary partly fills itself — recovering customers you would otherwise lose to whoever advertises when they finally remember.

Bulk scheduling handles the rush: in August you are placing several hundred jobs into ten weeks, and doing it in blocks rather than one at a time is the difference between an afternoon and a fortnight.

Photos attach to jobs, so a cracked liner or a bird’s nest is documented and sits in the customer record when you quote the repair.

Core is $49/mo plus $29 per seat; reminders are Connect at $139, which for this trade is the tier that actually pays.

What it does well

  • The most polished product in the category. Onboarding is fast and the mobile app is the one crews complain about least.
  • Client-facing experience — booking page, quote approvals, payment — is a step above everything cheaper.
  • Deepest integration list, so it fits whatever you already run the books in.

What it does badly

  • The advertised entry price is one user. Seats are $29/mo each on every tier, so a three-person crew on Core is $107/mo, not $49.
  • Automation that most operators consider essential — reminders, follow-ups — is Connect and up, a 2.8x jump from Core.
  • Prepaid annual pricing is what the marketing quotes; the no-commitment monthly number is meaningfully higher.
Jobber pricing page showing the Grow, Connect and Core plans at $105, $70 and $21 per month billed annually, each marked as a 12-month introductory rate.
Three of Jobber’s four tiers, captured 31 August 2026. Note the small print under each price: the headline figure runs for 12 months, then rises to $149, $99 and $29. The Plus tier sits off-screen in their carousel.

Who it fits: One person to a mid-size crew. The Core tier is genuinely usable solo; the useful automation starts at Connect.

Housecall Pro — best for inspection evidence

$79/mo · Five or more sweeps

Jobber’s closest competitor, priced for teams rather than solos, with stronger dispatch and marketing tooling.

Chimney work is safety work, and the photo report is the part of the job that protects you. Housecall Pro’s are the most structured of the four — captured against the visit and sendable to the customer as a document rather than as four texts.

When you are telling someone their flue is unsafe and they should not light a fire, having that documented properly matters both for the sale and for you.

Essentials at $189/mo includes five seats. Ignore Basic at $79 for one user.

What it does well

  • Five seats included on Essentials is the best seat-per-dollar deal of the three once you are past two people.
  • Dispatch and routing are stronger than Jobber’s at the equivalent tier.
  • Recurring service plans on Max are genuinely good if you sell maintenance contracts.

What it does badly

  • Worst entry price in the category: $79/mo for a single user, 60% more than Jobber Core for less.
  • Extra seats on Essentials are $100/mo — the most expensive seat of any tool here.
  • Add-on pricing is not published. You will get those numbers on a sales call, not off the website.

Who it fits: Two to eight people. The seat maths only starts working in your favour once you have a crew.

QuoteIQ — cheapest option

$29.99/mo · Solo sweeps

Field service software built for exterior cleaning and outdoor home service crews, with property measurement baked into the quote.

$29.99/mo covers quoting, scheduling, invoicing and card payment for a single van.

The weakness for this trade is exactly the thing this trade needs most: recurring management is thinner than Jobber’s, and the annual rebooking cycle is the whole business case for software here. Check during the trial that a twelve-month repeat is straightforward before committing.

Its satellite measurement feature does nothing for chimney work.

QuoteIQ pricing page showing five plans: Essentials $29.99, Beginner $74.99, Pro $149.99, Elite $299 and Max $699 per month, with the users and AI credits included in each.
QuoteIQ's tiers, captured 31 August 2026. Email and text automation — what you would need for annual rebooking — arrives on Pro at $149.99, not on Essentials.

What it does well

  • Cheapest real entry point of anything in this category — $29.99 gets a working quote-to-invoice loop, not a crippled trial tier.
  • MapMeasure Pro measures a property off satellite imagery, which is the actual job on a lawn, driveway or roof quote.
  • Every tier includes the features. No add-on menu bolted on at checkout.

What it does badly

  • Smaller company than the incumbents. Fewer integrations, and you will occasionally be the person filing the bug.
  • Built around exterior and outdoor trades. If you run commercial mechanical, this is the wrong shape.
  • Seat counts are tight below Elite — a four-person crew is already on the $149.99 tier.

QuoteIQ’s five tiers as published on 31 August 2026. Seat counts are the number that matters here: four users on Pro at $149.99.

Who it fits: Solo operator to a four-person crew, mostly exterior cleaning and outdoor work.

ServiceTitan — wrong shape

Quote only · Large operations

Enterprise field service management for multi-truck operations, sold through a sales process rather than a pricing page.

On the page because a roundup without the market leader is an advertisement.

Built for year-round dispatched trades with price books, memberships and van inventory. A business that earns most of its revenue in ten weeks is the wrong shape for an annual enterprise contract and a paid implementation.

What it does well

  • Nothing else touches it for a large operation: reporting, payroll, inventory, call tracking, financing at the door.
  • Built for a business where somebody’s full-time job is dispatch.

What it does badly

  • No published pricing, an annual contract and an implementation fee. This is not a tool a solo operator buys.
  • For a one to four person crew it is the wrong product at any price — you would use perhaps a tenth of it.

Who it fits: Ten trucks and up, with an office manager whose job includes running the software.

How we picked

Prices read off each vendor’s own pricing page on 31 August 2026, no-commitment monthly rate with seats added.

For chimney sweeping we weighted annual rebooking automation far above anything else, then bulk scheduling into a compressed season, then photo documentation. We treated formal inspection certification as a gap across all four rather than a scoring category.

We earn nothing from Jobber or ServiceTitan, and Jobber is the pick.

What we would do

Solo, under 100 customers: QuoteIQ at $29.99, or Jobber Core at $49.

Solo to four, a real annual book: Jobber Connect at $139. The rebooking automation is the entire reason, and it will pay for itself in recovered customers in one season.

Five or more: Housecall Pro Essentials at $189.

Questions operators actually ask

What software do chimney sweeps use?

Mostly Jobber or Housecall Pro. The two features that matter are annual recurring jobs — because every customer should come back next autumn — and photo-heavy reporting, because a chimney inspection is a safety document as much as a service record.

How do I get customers to rebook each year?

Set the next sweep as a recurring job twelve months out and let the reminder do the asking. Chimney work has one of the highest natural repeat rates of any trade on this site and one of the worst capture rates, because customers simply forget until they smell smoke.

Do these produce inspection reports?

Not as a formal certificate. You get checklists and photo attachments, which covers a level one visual inspection for most residential customers. None of them generate a standards-compliant inspection document, so if you do insurance or real-estate work you will produce that separately.

How do I handle the autumn rush?

Bulk-schedule the whole recurring block in late summer and route it geographically. Chimney demand collapses into about ten weeks, and the operators who do well are the ones whose diary was full before the first cold night rather than answering the phone during it.

Is software worth it for a solo sweep?

Once you are past roughly a hundred annual customers, yes — mostly for the rebooking. A forgotten customer is a whole year of revenue lost from that address, and the automated reminder costs you nothing per customer.
