Flooring estimating software: seam layouts or job quotes
Three products, one search term
Takeoff and layout. MeasureSquare is the standard: give it a room plan and it produces quantities, seam layouts and cut lists. This is real takeoff — measuring off plans — and it is a different product category from field service software.
Flooring ERP. RFMS, QFloors, Comp-U-Floor. Runs a dealer with a showroom, inventory and a sample library.
Quoting and job management. Turning square footage and your rates into a proposal, scheduling the install, taking a deposit and invoicing. That is what the four tools below do, and it is what most one-to-four person install crews actually need first.
If you need cut lists, go and price MeasureSquare — we have not verified their pricing and will not invent numbers. If you need to stop invoicing on Sunday night, keep reading.
What an install crew needs from estimating
Itemised prep lines. Subfloor, removal, disposal, transitions. The prep is where flooring jobs lose money and it has to be visible on the quote.
Material tiers as options. Laminate, engineered, solid — priced as choices rather than negotiated.
Deposits, because you front the material.
| Tool | Starts at | Users included | Best for | Verdict |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| Jobber | $49/mo | 1 | One to four installers | Itemised quotes, deposits, multi-day jobs |
| QuoteIQ | $29.99/mo | 1 | Solo installers | Cheapest; plan-view area only |
| Housecall Pro | $79/mo | 1 | Five or more | Proposal tool for material tiers |
| ServiceTitan | Quote only | Unlimited | Large service operations | Quote-only, service trades |
Jobber — best for an install crew
$49/mo · One to four installersThe default field service platform for small home service businesses, and the one most operators compare everything else against.
Multi-day jobs, deposits at approval, material and labour on separate lines, and optional line items on Grow at $199 so the customer picks their own material tier.
Core is $49/mo plus $29 per seat. No cut lists, no seam planning.
What it does well
- The most polished product in the category. Onboarding is fast and the mobile app is the one crews complain about least.
- Client-facing experience — booking page, quote approvals, payment — is a step above everything cheaper.
- Deepest integration list, so it fits whatever you already run the books in.
What it does badly
- The advertised entry price is one user. Seats are $29/mo each on every tier, so a three-person crew on Core is $107/mo, not $49.
- Automation that most operators consider essential — reminders, follow-ups — is Connect and up, a 2.8x jump from Core.
- Prepaid annual pricing is what the marketing quotes; the no-commitment monthly number is meaningfully higher.
Who it fits: One person to a mid-size crew. The Core tier is genuinely usable solo; the useful automation starts at Connect.
QuoteIQ — cheapest option
$29.99/mo · Solo installersField service software built for exterior cleaning and outdoor home service crews, with property measurement baked into the quote.
$29.99/mo for quoting, scheduling and invoicing, with financing on every tier — useful on a $6,000 hardwood job.
MapMeasure Pro measures a building footprint from above, which is of limited use for interior flooring. Treat it as a phone-call range, not a quote.

What it does well
- Cheapest real entry point of anything in this category — $29.99 gets a working quote-to-invoice loop, not a crippled trial tier.
- MapMeasure Pro measures a property off satellite imagery, which is the actual job on a lawn, driveway or roof quote.
- Every tier includes the features. No add-on menu bolted on at checkout.
What it does badly
- Smaller company than the incumbents. Fewer integrations, and you will occasionally be the person filing the bug.
- Built around exterior and outdoor trades. If you run commercial mechanical, this is the wrong shape.
- Seat counts are tight below Elite — a four-person crew is already on the $149.99 tier.
Who it fits: Solo operator to a four-person crew, mostly exterior cleaning and outdoor work.
Housecall Pro — for a bigger crew
$79/mo · Five or more installersJobber’s closest competitor, priced for teams rather than solos, with stronger dispatch and marketing tooling.
Essentials at $189/mo with five seats beats Jobber’s per-seat maths past four people, and the Max proposal tool at $329 presents material tiers cleanly.
What it does well
- Five seats included on Essentials is the best seat-per-dollar deal of the three once you are past two people.
- Dispatch and routing are stronger than Jobber’s at the equivalent tier.
- Recurring service plans on Max are genuinely good if you sell maintenance contracts.
What it does badly
- Worst entry price in the category: $79/mo for a single user, 60% more than Jobber Core for less.
- Extra seats on Essentials are $100/mo — the most expensive seat of any tool here.
- Add-on pricing is not published. You will get those numbers on a sales call, not off the website.
Who it fits: Two to eight people. The seat maths only starts working in your favour once you have a crew.
ServiceTitan is built for dispatched service calls rather than install project work — named here for completeness, with quote-only pricing and a paid implementation.
How we picked
Prices read off each vendor’s pricing page on 31 August 2026, no-commitment monthly rate with seats added. We weighted itemised prep lines, material tier presentation and deposits, and did not score takeoff or seam layout, which none of these do.
We earn nothing from Jobber or ServiceTitan.
What we would do
Need cut lists and seam layouts: MeasureSquare. None of these.
Solo installer: QuoteIQ at $29.99.
Two to four: Jobber, Grow at $199 for material options.
Showroom and inventory: RFMS or QFloors.
Questions operators actually ask
What is flooring estimating software?
Two products. Takeoff and layout software — MeasureSquare is the standard — takes a room plan and produces material quantities, seam layouts and cut lists. Quoting software turns square footage plus your rates into a proposal. Larger dealers use flooring ERP like RFMS or QFloors, which does both plus inventory.
Do these tools calculate waste and seams?
No. None of the four general tools here produce a cut list or a seam layout. You can add a waste percentage as a line item and do the layout yourself, which is what most small installers do. If seam planning is a real part of your work, MeasureSquare is the category answer.
How should I quote a flooring job?
Square footage for material and labour, then separate lines for furniture moving, old floor removal and disposal, subfloor prep, transitions and trim. Installers who quote one square-foot number lose money on every job with a bad subfloor, because the prep was invisible when the customer agreed.
Is a first-pass measurement from satellite imagery useful?
Only loosely, and only for exteriors or overall footprint. Interior flooring is a room-by-room measurement and there is no substitute for measuring on site. Treat any remote number as a range for the phone call, not as a quote.
When do I need flooring ERP?
When you have a showroom, inventory, sample checkouts and multiple sales staff. That is RFMS, QFloors or Comp-U-Floor territory. We have not verified their pricing, so there are no figures here.
